Johnny 9 and the Racers are back with their sophomore full length album, “Chin Up.” Their first full length written since the members have been out of high school, and displays tremendous growth for Johnny 9. Less prominent are the straightforward Ska/Punk influences of their first album as “Chin Up” focuses more on unique songwriting with genuinely (sometimes painfully) honest lyrics. Mixing two tone influenced Ska and Rock while dabbling in other Jamaican genres such as dub reggae, “Chin Up” is an album that can be enjoyed by anyone from an avid Ska fan to a listener of top 40 radio.
