Welcome to Stubborn Records
May, 2008 The weather is warming up nicely here in the Garden State! We're also heating things up to bring you more lovely music, t-shirts and other goodies! We've got more new 45s on our very own Kingston, Jamaica-based Version City label including a new Prince Alla on the Fortude riddim. We've got another Prince Alla at the pressing plant now on the "Gangsta Drop" riddim which you may know from King Django's "Fistful a Riddim" (from the Roots Tonic CD). If you haven't checked out the first batch, you're definitely missing out on the hot versions from the likes of Johnny Osbourne, King Django, Pampidoo, Rocker T, Little John, Nigger Kojak and Roaring Lion. Don't forget about the great new releases Django's been producing for the Freedom Sounds label in Kingston! Now at the plant is a new version over Ethiopian Kings riddim by NYers Sizzler Ponderosa and Emerald Nutz! We're also striving to lend our support to the new generation of bands and musicians playing all of the different styles of music inspired by the original masters of Jamaica!

In 2007 we celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Version City Studio and this year will mark the 10th anniversary of the Version City party! Currently the party is held on the first Saturday of every month at the Knitting Factory at 74 Leonard Street in New York City. It's always ALL AGES!
Doors open at 7pm and it's $12 to get in. Here's a look at what we've got coming up:
