Desmond Dekker was known as The King of Ska for good reason. He had international hits in America and England before Bob Marley. He was a living legend in Jamaica, where he recorded hit after hit for top producer Leslie Kong throughout the 1960's.
Featuring a selection of top-shelf Canadian and American artists' unique and tasteful interpretations, the diversity of this compilation is a fitting tribute to the wide influence wielded by Dekker from his ska days straight down through rocksteady, reggae, dub and even punk rock.
